Paul Fearn

Aviation has been in my blood all my life. My father served in the Royal Air Force, I came up through the Air Training Corps and then served in the RAF myself, so aircraft were part of the world I grew up in. A camera for my eighteenth birthday turned that lifelong connection into a craft, and I have photographed aviation full-time since 2000, covering everything from front-line military jets and commercial airliners to business aviation, classic warbirds and air-to-air work, always aiming for images that are technically sharp and well composed.

Beyond my own camera, I founded and run Piemags: a stock and archive library that now manages more than 30 million images across virtually every subject, alongside stills and video, including extensive military footage. The collection reaches buyers through the world’s leading photo and video platforms, as well as direct licensing.

Piemags also holds a deep historical archive of images, documents and prints spanning more than a century, used by historians, authors, modelmakers, museums, publishers and collectors. Everything is available to license for editorial, commercial, advertising and publishing use, and selected work is offered as fine-art prints. Imagery from the collection has appeared across magazines, the press, television and digital platforms.
